The Nanning hotel was very nice, but does not deserve a 5 star rating. I have stayed in many 5 star hotels in China that were less expensive and provided nicer rooms.
The negatives are:
The room was like a refrigerator, no heat.
The carpets were badly stained and seemed dirty.
I was charged 20 RMB for ice.
There was no refrigerator only a cooler.
Checkout was extremely slow.
Positives are:
The service was good except at checkout.
The bed was reasonably comfortable.
There was plenty of hot water.
I would consider staying there again. The location is good.

1. If you asked me, I feel very comfortable with Nanning hotel. I have never been to Nanning before, but the description in travelchinaguide.com fits the exact environment. Nanning hotel is a five star hotel in the center of city, have good location, nearly connected with shops and food.
2. I have had great help from TCG. I will log on again for my next visit to China.
