My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel for our holiday. The hotel complex is gorgeous, with small rivers and ponds running through it and little bridges crossing over them. At night there grounds are lit up with small, colored lights. What a cute thing! The room we had was very nice and comfortable with a huge bathroom and a big balcony. The TV worked, but there weren't any western channels-but we don't go on holiday to watch TV anyway. Housekeeping was very helpful and competent. They came to clean the room everyday. There were always more than enough towels in the bathroom. So the room was very, very clean. Overall, I was extremely pleased with this hotel. Their staffs are hard-working and kindly. The resort is very clean and beautifully groomed. I would recommend it to all of you! Guest Name : Caroline Updated : 2008-1-30 Stayed between 20th Mayth and 4th June. Found hotel room clean, staff as helful as possible considering their limited English. However, had to sit and lay on hard, wooden loungers with no covers at all. Very painfull! Building/Maintenance work was carried out at the pool area during our stay, with wheelbarrows being constantly pushed about, Workmen digging and hammering, dust everywhere, also gardening with noisy equipment was continuous. Drinks served at poolside bar expensive and out of date, ie Corona ?￡7.00 and dated Oct 2006!!! No refreshments served at the beach section and no covers for loungers here either and no help was gien by Hotel when this was questioned. Felt a bit stuck at Golden Palm Resort. Could get a taxi to Sanya cheaply enough, but who wants to travel 20-30 mins by taxi in 100oC for an Ice Lolly? Food at Hotel was also poor. No consiederation for International tastes or special diet, ie Vegetarian. Nothing around: no shop, no restaurant, no bar. I left the next day to dadonghai. In our opinion the booking could be made little bit carefully, because we hadn't been informed that all servis in hotel as accomodation, room servis etc. - must be booked quite high amount. It is really unacceptable and we didn't meet with this kind of protection nowhere in the world. The receptionist explained us that these precaution is against undisciplinary tourist from your country. We found it as quite humiliated and we won't accept it when we come possibly next time. Staff in Palm Beach Resort was attentive, respectful and we were really satisfied. We were only quite surprised low knowledge of english between server.
