General
The Peninsula Beijing Hotel, located in the downtown of Beijing, is only a few steps from the Forbidden City, Tian'an Men Square and the Wangfujing walking street. Having received many foreign political figures and leaders, the hotel boasts one modern lobby, two restaurants with various Chinese and western foods, and rooms equipped with advanced facilities. A Peninsula spa center and a fitness center are also available. Since its opening in 1989, the Peninsula Beijing Hotel has won popularity for its splendid appearance and professional service. The hotel with 14 floors and 525 rooms was lately renovated in 2006.

Location: This hotel is only a few minutes' walk from a subway station and the famous Wangfujing shopping area.
Room: spacious and quiet.
Breakfast: fantastic & fabulous
Facilities: The spa is gorgeous. And the swimming pool is wonderful.
Staff: Most of the staff spoke English well, some of them can speak beautiful Japanese. They are all very attentive and helpful.
TCG service: satisfied. Easy to make hotel booking.

After many stays in Beijing hotels, this is one of the best. Not cheap but good value in times when it is possible to pay a lot and get little for that money. Room was excellent in every way. Service was without fault. Chinese restaurant was excellent. Western restaurant was good. Located well for things most likely required. All in all a very nice experience.

I was lucky enough to find this hotel for a weekend visit to Beijing while traveling throughout Asia on a five week vacation. There is nothing finer than this property. First class restaurants, shopping, rooms, and service. This is the best of the best. My travel was during January/February of 2007 and I would highly recommended to anyone traveling to Beijing. Relaxing wine bar in the lobby for that late evening drink. No reason to travel outside of the hotel with the outstanding restaurants available within the hotel. My fiancee and I were so delighted.
