The room service were great especially house keeper Miss Liu. She did an understanding job in keeping our bathroom clean and dry. Great location. Walking distance to Forbidden City and Beihai Park. The only thing is the bathroom showers curtain that does not extend to the bottom thereby causing water to spill over. Management needs to fix this problem. Overall, it’s a great hotel to stay.

The front desk was sometimes confused; many costumers became angry due to unrespectable way of treating them. Breakfast was poor, same menu every day. If you arrive to breakfast hall late, then you have to expect no food left. When shower in the bath room, the curtain is idiotic installed, so all bath room is merged with water.

It's an okay hotel in a great location. It's a short walk from the Forbidden City and the Wangfujing shopping area.
However, None of the taxi drivers knew the exact location of the Red Wall Hotel in Beijing, even though I gave them the address written in Chinese. They would all stop a few blocks away on N Riverside St. So, a map showing the hotel in its local area is essential.

The comments I've read about this hotel is pretty on point. The staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel was probably grand in its day. The hallway rugs are old and soiled and the wallpaper is peeling in some areas. The room was clean and bathroom updated. The location is in walking distance of attractions. Buses come right by the hotel. I had no problem getting cabs. We enjoyed the reasonable priced foot massages at the end of our day. The hotel had restaurant, bar, massages, tour desk, currency exchange. We had little difficulty communicating with the staff. There was an odor in the area. We smelled the odor in different areas of Beijing. If you want a low budget hotel near attractions and public transportation you might want to give this hotel a try.
