General
Shanghai City Central Youth Hostel, embedded with the double concept of Business hotel and Youth hostel, is a new comprehensive one of International Youth Hostel. It provides a convenient, environmental, sanitary, comfortable and economic living environment. At the same time, the hostel advocates the “star youth” life style, which is the combination of DIY tour, sports and leisure, vogue entertainment and cultural experience. Located in the junction of Wuning Road and Zhongshan North Road and at the edge of Jing’an Temple Business District, the hostel is close to the inner ring (Zhongshan North Road part) of Shanghai Viaduct Bridge. The transportation is very convenient that you can walk to the Caoyang Station of Metro line 4. The Hostel opened in December, 2005 is 6-storey high and has all together 150 rooms.

I’ve been the first time in Shanghai and to be honest, had some doubts how it works out there. But I can say, I really recommend the youth hostel. Very tasty food, all speak English and all in all it is very cheap. You meet many people of different nationalities there, comfortable rooms and beautiful bar women, what do you want more? :). I hope I can manage it to come back in September.

The hostel was very good and clean. We had large double room, very spacious and well equipped except duvet was too thin for this time of year (December) as there was no heating in the room. Bed was hard, but comfortable. Ensuite was good. Reception staff was very helpful and spoke good English. Reading/computer area in lobby was well used and pleasant. Bar was comfortable and reasonably priced. Food was good - first meat without bones in China! Breakfast good mix of East and West. Bar staff very helpful and nice - A good experience.
The booking experience through TCG Booking Center was Very good, very easy. All was done last minute when already in China and it all works fine. Thanks
