General
Shanghai City Central Youth Hostel, opening up in 2005, is the largest Youth hostel in Shanghai at present. There are 150 rooms in the hostel. The rooms are comfortable include ensuites, doubles, singles, and 4 bed dormitories with central air conditioning and individual controls in each of the 150 rooms. The hostel offers a computer/internet room, billiards, bar, and karaoke with jukebox. There is a 24-hour supermarket, breakfast bar, coffee lounge, ATM, IC/IP phones. Nearby the hostel there is KFC, Mc'Donald, Bi Feng Tang restaurant, Bank and post office.

The hostel was very good and clean. We had large double room, very spacious and well equipped except duvet was too thin for this time of year (December) as there was no heating in the room. Bed was hard, but comfortable. Ensuite was good. Reception staff was very helpful and spoke good English. Reading/computer area in lobby was well used and pleasant. Bar was comfortable and reasonably priced. Food was good - first meat without bones in China! Breakfast good mix of East and West. Bar staff very helpful and nice - A good experience.
The booking experience through TCG Booking Center was Very good, very easy. All was done last minute when already in China and it all works fine. Thanks

I think that the TCG Booking Center services are efficient and helpful. My first experience was good!

Shanghai was a great place and we really loved the Chinese people, everyone was friendly and helpful.
