Jing An hotel was formerly named "Haig Court", a Spanish designed building for more than 80 years old. After liberation, hotel was occupied by Chinese Communist Party East Section as office using, afterwards it become the official working place of Chinese Communist Party Shanghai Committe.

Shanghai Jing An Hotel where I stayed in April 2008 is definitely a recommended place for any traveller seeking comfortable hotel, close to shopping and transportation (subway) to downtown area. Hotel staff is friendly and able to speak English. Rooms are clean, with updated furniture and well appointed bathrooms.
