The Sheraton in Guilin was nice, but we didn't feel deserved five stars. We had a minor problem with some laundry and on the Saturday night they had booked their main dining room for a wedding. The other dining room therefore became overloaded. We had reservations for a night cruise and needed dinner before going out. Once we made our needs known a table was made available but the service was slow. The buffet breakfast service was not as good as we had experienced when we stayed at the Courtyard Marriott in Shanghai. We returned home after staying in Guilin, then in Korea. I was going to write to you one of these days. Overall, we were very satisfied of the accommodation you arranged for us. Here are some specific comments. Thanks again, and maybe another time soon. We found the operation efficient and friendly, despite my delaying the final request. We are impressed. We certainly will look for you next time. I found the general staff very helpful and professional. Especially, we liked the cuisine and the staff at the GuoTai Chinese restaurant. The waiters, both men and women were polite and efficient. I thought that they have been trained at some school. I even imagined that the Canadian waiters could be sent to learn in Guilin Sheraton on how to become professional. There was one strange thing with the cab service to the airport. There were cabs waiting just along the hotel which I could pick up and at the same time the hotel offered its own arrangement, but at double the going rate.
