General
Located in the west part of Xian city and adjacent to the West Er'huan Road, Sheraton Xian Hotel has a quiet and elegant neighborhood. Besides, its transportation is very convenient: it is only minutes' drive to the city center and High Technology and Industry Development Zone. The hotel was opened in 1991 and redecorated in 2008 with 365 well-designed guest rooms/suites. Hotel location is not central but service is good. We stayed two nights there for sightseeing in Xian. Hotel staff is friendly and warm; room is clean and comfortable as you would expect from a Sheraton hotel. The hotel’s buffet dinner is also tasty. Anyhow, we enjoyed our trip in Xian so as this hotel.

The hotel did not divulge either through the on-line booking process or at check-in that the swimming pool would not be available. This was disappointing as I booked a 5-star hotel so my 9-yr-old daughter could swim. There was no commensurate price reduction. The greeting letter in the room informing us of this was too late for us to change hotels. (eg to a cheaper one with no pool, but with quite satisfactory service and cleanliness).
