Hotel location was perfect, which is at the crossroads of Jixiang Road & Sanya Bay Road, close to the seafood market & the famous Spring Garden (Chun Yuan). The bus stops are also nearby the hotel. Room was spacious and facilities were quite new. Breakfast was GREAT, large variety with many healthy options.

My wife and I have been staying here several days (end of January 2011) and are really enjoying the time here. The staff is friendly and the service seems 5 Star. If I have a complaint, it is that the coffee at the breakfast is only lukewarm and not really very good - and perhaps that they offer discounts on the breakfast, but don't tell you about them unless you find out yourself. Tip: Ask for discounts and discount prices. The pool isn't getting much use this time of year - water is a little chilly, but the beach is great and the location can't be beat. We sit on our balcony at night watching the lightshows on the buildings, the fireworks, and of course listening to the music all along the beach. The traffic along the street is loud (lots of horns honking) but you can't really hear it if you shut the balcony doors. This is a 5 Star I would recommend to anyone.

This hotel is excellent. The staff is all friendly and very professional. I stayed here in January with my wife for a few days, and our wedding anniversary was an experience we won't forget soon! That Mrs. Jones was unable to change money at the reception is quite normal in Chinese hotels, if the bills are in any way worn. This is certainly not the fault of the hotels themselves, but that the banks will not in turn accept the money from the hotels. Thumbs up to the Shengyi Holiday Hotel Villa!!!

We stayed here for 11 days. Our first day there we went to the desk to change some money. The girl at the front desk told us our bills were folded and one was torn at the top so she couldn't change ANY of our money. I think what made it worse was that she and her coworker laughed at us as we walked away. My husband was furious. In the room there was no iron and there was plaster broken off the wall. It is right across the street form the beach which was great but very noisy from the ton of traffic and the non stop horn honking. They have their own pool but there was no one there at the swim up bar serving drinks. Pity as it was 82 degrees and we were thirsty. We ended up going to the market in the hotel and bought cold Heinekens for 7 RMB.
The bed was as hard as a rock!

We have investigated it why the reception counter can't do the foreign change to you, its because of our finance dept. has a rule that the damaged money can't be used. We definitely didn't laugh at you. We will take your advice about the suggestion of beverage service along the swimming pour.
