Suzhou Zhongshan Hotel: With our budget, Suzhou Zhongshan Hotel is really close to perfection. Close to the railway station and it is likely in the middle of everything. Service was great. As for breakfast, if you are into Chinese food, then no problem and we just took what they have on the buffet table. We know that it is not a five star hotel so we don't really expect too much when it come to breakfast...but when we were seated, one of the staff started serving us brewed coffee, bread, jam, fried egg[well done sunny side up], fruit salad with mayo....oh boy, we were treated as V.I.P. And we had this big smile in our face, not because of the food, but of the service they gave us. On the down side, although it is not a big thing for us, but just want others to know that they don't have bottled water once you arrive at their hotel, BUT they have hot water ready for your tea. Staff is not that coherent in English, but they can communicate, so it will help if you have your English-Chinese dictionary if you are not a Chinese speaker. But above all, if I rate the hotel from one to five star, I will give them five star. Just know what to expect with the budget that you have.

Booking experience through TCG Booking Center: Thumbs up for your service and big thanks to CAROLINE ZHAO, she was so polite and even though I can't see her, I know that she's smiling. I wish all Chinese who are in this kind of job have the same qualities as her. Overall comment, TCG is very helpful with everything. The first hotel that I was trying to booked was fully booked and Caroline helped me find a better hotel for me and other 2 friends. She found a room that has three beds which was very good. TCG will always be there in all your inquiries, very helpful, polite and accommodating. They will even remind you and call you again in case you forgot what time you should be checking-in. And they help me communicate with the hotel staff, since we had language barrier. Five star for TCG service. More power to all of you TCG!

Thanks again for a wonderful service. I even recommended you to my friends who want to visit different places in China.

Dear Cindy,
I promised to give you some feedback on the hotels I booked through you recently but first I would like to thank Therese (I think that is the name I got when I talked to her on the phone from the Lily Hotel, Hangzhou) who was able to respond to my request for hotel bookings in Shanghai and Suzhou in such a short time. Thank you for the fine service you rendered.
Now the Zhongshan Hotel, Suzhou
Though the front facade was not very impressive, the hotel is well located on the busiest road of Suzhou. The check in was smooth and we had not trouble as the staff could speak a little English and was expecting us. The room being a triple was good enough as all three beds were the same!!! The staff tried their best to accommodate us and our requirements like showing us maps of Suzhou (both in English and Chinese) even though we had to buy them. Counter staff especially Sally was very helpful as she managed to get all the necessary information for us on the international opera festival show which we wanted to see and finally booked. However, we found the venue was so far away near the industrial area that we had difficulty in returning home after the show especially as it was raining!!!
Breakfast at the hotel was different - we did not know initially what to expect and when we went for breakfast the first day, we did not find a lot of food on the table. However, the girl, Mimi, was very helpful as she tried to give us the menu card to see and order. However, we found that to refill our cup of coffee, we would have to pay CNY10!!!!(something we didn't expect!!!). The only way to overcome this was to ask Mimi to fill the cup full and I had to take over the coffee from my wife and her cousin who did not drink coffee!!!!!! On the whole, we were satisfied with Zhonshan Hotel, Suzhou and would recommend it for others. though the breakfast can be better.
Unfortunately, some of the other facilities were not available though they were advertised such as the foot massage and the internet (which broke down). However, it was available on the last day of our stay at the hotel.

I hope the above comments would be useful. Generally, we wish for free and easy travellers like us, there are more help to give us information on local tours and how to book them, how to travel etc. Maps of the hotel and nearby streets and eating shops would also be helpful. Maybe you can make this available for would be travellers when they book through you.

I was very happy and satisfied with this hotel. It is located at a very good area and connected to the major spot like railway station, shopping area and etc. The hotel is clean and the staff are friendly. The only thing is that the hotel breakfast menu are same everyday. Hope it would improve soon.
