Dunhuang is a very beautiful place, and the Exterior of the hotel looks like a typical Chinese castle, and the interior is completely local Chinese style, the hotel lobby is special decorated and very spacious, the hotel room is equipped with local traditional facilities, it is very clean, extraordinary and spacious. The hotel staffs are well-skilled and courteous, also very helpful when you ask for direction. As for location, well, although not in the city center, the hotel is not located in some desolate or remote place; since Dunhuang is not a very big city, it is just near to the Echoing-Sand Dune and the Crescent Lake, with convenient transportation to the city center, just 10 minutes drive. In all, this hotel is the ideal accommodation in Dunhuang. To me, it is the most impressive hotel on my China Tour. All of us love it very much. Highly recommended!!!!

This place is so beautiful the photos dont even do it justice. The walkways along the courtyards with the big red Chinese lanterns, the local high school kids with their beautiful costumes doing their traditional dances in the formal courtyard... The photo of the rooftop patio with the dunes in the distance is exactly like that. You can sit up there and have Colombian coffee in the morning and good local wine at night. Saw the biggest shooting star Ive ever seen. The hotel rooms are very clean and comfortable. Big walk-in slate shower. Great massages in the spa. Wonderful experience. Dunhuang is an idyllic little Chinese city. Dont miss the night market and the silk carpet workshop. Not to mention the camel rides, the grottoes, the museums... I hope to return someday.

We had a great time and the hotels were good ones. The Datong hotel was a quality hotel and the Silk Road hotel was the best one in town. Your service was good and I will recommend it to anyone going to China.
