Established in September, 2003, the resort is ten-storey high and possesses 257 guest rooms. The theme of Universal Resort Sanya is 'African castle style resort hotel' which has full-bodied African atmosphere, including African finery and ornaments, hospitable services of African employees and African folk culture. It is the only hotel in China that is featured by the African style, where guests can experience the real African life without going abroad.

It’s bordering the green lake on the west and facing the sea. It’s only two minutes walking distance to the private beach. Every morning when we woke up, we could watch the great sea-view in front of our room, feeling the wonderful breeze, and breathing the humid fresh air. All these really made me fully relaxed.
The hotel itself was also beautiful. Dreamy garden, huge swimming pools and African Architectural decoration created a kind of exotic romance.

What a nice place, from the sea close, the price compared with other five-star hotel is very cheap, relatively large room, African features. Breakfast is very good, especially the evening BBQ, with a party for the guests appreciate the opportunity we will go.

Just came back from Universal Resort. This must be one the the worst places at Yalong Bay! We arrived at night, and at the desk there was not a single person who understood English. This should not be a 5 star hotel!!
They have no service, the rooms are poor, and they charge you for every single service. You pay USD 20 for an apple at night, and sorry you Russians: You dont make this place much better. Manners are rare among you.
I was curious about Sanya as beaches. They are nice, but there is absolutely nothing to do in the evenings or night-time. The hotels in the area have bought all land, so there is on shop, no restaurant or other amusement. You have to stay in the hotel with their offers, and they are poor, believe me. A road close to the hotel makes you awake most of the nights.
