Wa King Town Hotel, Guangzhou is OK as a hotel. I prefer it because it is close to the Expo. However, the hotel has a very bad odour at all times in the room and with in the lifts. The toilets could be made better as they are very small. Guest Name : Mr. Krishnamoorthy V Nationality : India Updated : 2008-6-6 Beware. This hotel used to be 3 star but has recently been upgraded to 4 star. Their in room hotel brochure still states it is a 3 star and that is just about what you should expect. I stayed there in April 2007 during canton fair. The hotel is not as good as most 3 star hotels I have stayed in. Be extra careful about the room they give you--not all rooms have been upgraded to 4 star standard. Their standard room has very old furniture. No safe. No refrigerator. The bathroom tap wasn't working properly and the bathroom fittings were falling apart. In their defense, I have to say their service is good and the staff is friendly.
