We believe that you came to Xian with a happy heart. However, we bitterly regret that the poor room we provided has caused you so many troubles and spoilt your good humor during your trip to Xian.
It is a fact that our staff on duty did a poor job and they did not make proper arrangement for you even the room condition is rather unbearable. We are deeply sorry for it. After receiving your complaint and photos, we have punished the relevant staff. Meanwhile, we have found the problems that exist in our facilities and service. To improve our service, we will draw a lesson from this case, strengthen the training of personnel and leave no efforts to resolve all problems. Despite having specified a late arrival in our form the hotel hurried to fill all possible rooms before we arrived.
When we got there the second booked room (and the latest available) was in horrible conditions: water in front of the door, water in the carpet inside the room, moldy smell, humidity bubbles in the wall, stained bed sheets (I enclose pictures in attachment). The overall hygiene and cleanliness was very poor.
We refused to take the room and informed about the room condition to the manager on duty. Her response was even worse than the room: I had to show four times the room (go and come back form the lobby...). First they denied there was water inside the room, then they call an "ayi" to check it, then I went there with the assistant manager to put her nose in the mold. After an hour of pain they acknowledged the room was not perfect, but it was more than acceptable for their judgment.
They proposed to charge additional cost so I could have a spare king size bedroom. I refused to pay for it and demanded it as compensation for the horrible quality of the room. After additional 20 minutes anything they added was "tomorrow you can change the room".
Please contextualize this after a day of traveling, being quite late, and the only option. I took the room, took the pictures in attachment and promise them a very detailed report about the hotel condition. I live in China, I know what to expect for the price to pay, and I know other Super 8. This hotel condition was by far substandard on every aspect. On top of that the attitude of the management was even worse. I sincerely DO NOT suggest you staying in this hotel and I might suggest to take it out from TCG.
I hope this will help other travelers for their decision.

In Xian the Xi Da Jie Super 8 hotel was OK. Placed in the center of the town and with a friendly English speaking staff.
The breakfast was cheap but there was only Chinese breakfast and it was difficult to find a place where we could have English breakfast.
The hotel is placed in a neighborhood with Chinese working people. We liked that. The hotel could need a little paint and decoration but the room was OK and the AC and Internet worked.
As to the air planes everything was perfect.
It was a surprise that the modern Xian Airport was equipped with old-fashioned toilets. You know: a hole in the floor. For my wife it was a real problem because she could not come up i stand up position without putting her hands on the floor and walls. A real risk for illness (salmonella) in a foreign country.
One small problem we had at the Xian airport was that the airport has two terminals and there was on our tickets no information about which to go to.
The taxi driver could not read English and of course we chose the wrong one. But after 15 minutes we were at the right terminal.
All together we had a fantastic trip to China. The first time for my wife. I have been there many times for business.
We shall certainly use your esteemed company again next time.
