I will be traveling to Guilin from 19-26 Feb. Would like to stay 5 nights first at Yangshuo and 2 nights in Guilin on way back. Need advice on how to get from Guilin airport to Yangshuo. Also, which hotel to stay with river or Mountain View but not far from town? Clean and comfortable not noisy. Thank you

From Guilin Airport to Yangshuo, you could take an airport shuttle to Guilin Railway Station first. And then take a direct coach to Yangshuo from the railway station. Or, you could take a taxi from the airport to Yangshuo directly, which costs you about CNY200 one way. As for hotels in Yangshuo, personally, River View Hotel Yangshuo and Yangshuo Guifu Hotel are nice ones. You may choose your preferred hotel and make an online booking directly.

Is the New West Street International Hotel, Yangshuo a good decent hotel?
Is it located nearby the West Street? I have a senior citizen and a young child with me, is it convenient staying at this hotel? I'd like to stay at a hotel which is comfortable & clean and nearby to the West Street to enable us to walk there in the evening. What do you recommend?

New West Street International Hotel is a decent five-star hotel and about 2kms to the city center and West Street. For the hotels just nearby the west street, River View Hotel Yangshuo is walking distance to the street.

Yes, Yangshuo Park Resort Hotel is around 0.5kms to the West Street. About the hotel comments, u can check some travelers’ reviews on website.

I am planning a 2 week holiday to visit Guilin, Shanghai, and Beijing between August 2nd and 13th. I've already booked a hotel in Guilin for August 2-5th (and then fly to Shanghai), is it possible to take a morning river cruise to Yangshuo, stay for the afternoon, and explore the town/countryside, take dinner, and return to Guilin in the evening after sunset (perhaps a driver?), or is it more advisable to stay over night in Yangshuo, and tour the rice patties the next day, and return to Guilin.

You are suggested to stay one night there and return to Guilin the next day. It is too time-pressing if you return to Guilin on that evening.
