We were suggested to take a view room as it faces the mountain. But you couldn’t see the Mountain View in the west street. But quite noisy. It takes about three to five min to the bus station, very convenient. The room is spacious, clean and comfortable. It was quite relaxed when you have a cup of tea or coffee; watch the people in the street at the balcony. At night I enjoyed the night view of the mountain and I think this is the reason why I recommend this hotel.

The Regency is ideally situated in Yangshuo, and as such can be noisy until 2.00am due to the bars underneath and around the hotel. The staff was very polite and had a good grasp of English. The hotel was reasonably clean and holds a three star Chinese rating; in my experience this may be pushing the rating system a bit The food in the hotel was not quite up to a standard that have found in other parts of the world, in hotels of this type (not to cheap, but cheerful) breakfast was Chinese (as would be expected) but a lot of the items were stale which drew complaints from several guests (Western and Indian)to the staff.

We stayed in both Guilin and Yangshuo, and the Regency Holiday Hotel was the most expensive so we had great expectations. The hotel looks nice and the lobby also, when we arrived a cleaning lady was cleaning the hotel sign with a toothbrush. But the room was not in same standard, the wallpaper was brown around all edges and we didn't want to put anything on the carpet. It was also very noisy as the room was just out the main road.
We bought some beers one night, exactly the same as the once in the mini bar, and we left one in there, but as we had mistakenly taken one of theirs, in stead of our own (they were exactly the same) so we had to pay for it.
Location is good though, as it is on the main road, but therefore also noisy.
