Hotel Information
General
Yide Hotel was opened up on the basis of the family courtyard of a Shanxi merchant named Hou Wangbin. It was built in 1736, consisting of 6 courtyards, including the house owners' yard, the servants' yard, the study yard, the yard of carriages and horses and a garden. The lanes connecting the six yards are paved with flag stone. Each of the courtyards is an intact Siheyuan decorated with delicate arches and exquisite carvings. The hotel is scientifically converted based on the original constructions, equipped with bathrooms, communication devices, internet access and other modern facilities. It is a combination of the past and modern. With the location in a serene lane, it is only 3 minutes' walk from the hotel to the flourishing business street.

Very nice stay, very clean lovely room well renovated with bathroom, keeping the spirit of this old house around several very charming courtyards, very quiet place and impressive red Chinese lantern in the evening. The location is excellent, right in the center of the old city, in 2 minutes walk of the main streets. The personal was very helpful to guide us on the visits to do, on findings us a driver to visit the "Wang mansion" in the surroundings. Another time to visit the other famous mansion where the movie "Espouses et concubines = spouses and common law wife". Also they reserved for us a theater show in Pingyao and we even got a discount!! The breakfast was excellent Chinese or more international with toast... and I recommend the restaurant, the food was excellent and cheap compared to other in the old city. In conclusion an excellent Quality Price for this very charming hotel with a very dedicated personnel providing an outstanding service.

Thank you for your email asking us for feedback in respect of our stay at the Yide hotel in Pingyao.
We were very happy with the Yide hotel. Its location was excellent for exploring the centre of Pingyao and it was easy to find. The hotel was very charming, set out in the style of the old Courtyard houses. The hotel was set a little back from the main road and so it was very peaceful, away from the hustle of the main streets. The rooms were very clean, large and well decorated in the local style. The food was very good, both at breakfast and for an evening meal.
The service from all of the staff was outstanding and we felt that this set this hotel apart from many other hotels that we have stayed in. The staff were very helpful from the moment of our arrival. We felt that they could not do enough for us and they were all very helpful telling us details of the sights in Pingyao and interested to know what we had done during the day. All of the staff spoke very good English. The hotel also arranged a car back to Taiyuan airport, at a charge cheaper than the standard taxi fare, and the hotel staff gave us water for the journey back to the airport!
We found that the booking experience with TCG to be very convenient and efficient and we experienced no problems when checking into the hotel.
