I visit nanning for the business many times. And I would like to say Yongjiang hotel is one of best hotels in nanning city. From the hardware to the software, they are up to the 5 star hotel. The room was tidy and spacious. Hotel staffs even including the housekeeping were very friendly and polite. Furthermore, the buffet breakfast was very nice and delicious. Many varieties including the western and Chinese taste can be chose. I hope to see you again in near future. Although we arrived at the wrong time for the ASEAN Expo we were accomodated very well by Mr. Benson Liang the hotel assistant desk manager who went out of his way to make rooms available. We had to shift a few times and the rates fluctuated it all worked out. The beds are very hard but the staff placed extra padding for us at our request. Room service was good and the only problem is the business lounge on the 8th floor does have free laptop use for 1x / day during stay but the business center will rent out their computers for a fee at 100Kbps speed only. If you want a western brekkie at the all you can eat buffet in the a.m. you wont find it. THey have a huge buffet mainly geared towards the Cinese traveller. THey only have 2 english channels HBO & CNN Pizza Hut and walmart along w/ decent shopping and Pearsons supermarket chain are a block away. THe convention center for ASEAN Expo is 20RMB away by taxi and about 15 mins drive time. Hotel will take you back to airport free via shuttle van and it costs 100 RMB via taxi to get to the hotel from airport. THe Travel China people were helpful to provide a chinese written script to show to the non English speaking taxi driver from the airport. THe Travel China people were very prompt in response to my business partners enquirys. I will use them again and yes more than likely stay at the Hotel. We did want the hotel to imporve their rooms a bit however with softer beds. Not a bad deal overall. I found it to be a very nice hotel with friendlt, attentive staff. Not that it makes a difference but the female staff were all very attractive. A bonus in my book. The food in the restaurants, there are two, was quite good and reasonably priced. There is a gym that is well equipped and Internet access is available for a very modest fee. The hotel is situated close to shopping and the river is right across the street. There is a nice park that goes for miles along the river. I seldom took a Taxi anywhere, it ws much more interesting to walk and check out the little shops. The people of Nanning are very friendly and honest. There is lots to see and do in this city. I am going back in May 2007 and I will be staying at the Yongjiang Hotel again. They treated me so good when I was there why would I go anywhere else? The air conditioner was so noisy you needed earplugs to sleep. The room showed wear and tear, there were stains on the carpet. Contrary to their website they do not have a gym. just sauna and massage, no exercise room. I would not stay here again.
