This hotel was excellent in all aspects. It is well positioned in the main part of town and many of the staff very proficient in English. We were only there for one night but if time had permitted it would have been a good place to spend a few more. Suzhou as a town certainly deserves more tha a one night (2 day) visit, and this hotel would be a good base.
The booking through TCG was rapid and smooth with no problems even although we left it to the last minute.

Excellent hotel! Nicely run, well located, very friendly staff, some of whom speak English very well.
Like a lot of traditional cities, central Suzhou is a square. In the middle is a smaller square, which was the old commercial center. This has been rebuilt with interesting restaurants and shops and a temple in the middle. The Youngor is in this square, which makes it an ideal location for touring Suzhou. One major garden is within easy walking distance and the others are spread out within a short taxi ride: two to the north, two to the west, two to the south, one to the east.
The staff is one of the best I have seen: efficient, friendly, knowledgeable, eager to help. Rooms are well kept, the lobby is nicely decorated, and the restaurant offers a wide variety of local dishes. In all - a very good choice.
