Zhongtang Hotel (Shuaifu Branch) was built up in the end of Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), and it was used as the former residence of the mansion of the prime minister in feudal China during the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). During the past more than 500 yeas, vast changes has taken to the hotel and now it is the only old architecture left from its past. Today, it lies in common residence areas, adjacent to the intriguing Winter Palace (shichahai). Besides, you can enjoy the wonderful sunset view and set your eyes on the White Tower from the cockloft. In addition, it takes only a few walks to the Xidan commercial street whether you can do recreational activities, go shopping or try out new stuff. It is the best place where you will enjoy modern life and experience the outstanding culture of Beijing City.

Overall stay was very satisfactory. The staff was very helpful and always available. They did everything to make our stay very pleasant. The location was what I expected. It was easy to get a taxi but sometimes the taxi drivers had trouble finding the hotel. The only suggestion I would make is that if you expect American tourists it would be helpful to offer cereal for breakfast. Dear Lena, Our stay at the Zhongtang Courtyard was excellent for the most part. The staff was kind and polite as well as assisting us with any needs. The hotel is very cozy and simple but at the same time clean and comfortable. The booking went well. Although we did have to split our groups up and one group had to stay at another location. Although it was not that far away it was a bit of an inconvenience. However, everything else was great.
