Mr. Chau (China),
I have to apologize for the people of this country... we can be so stupid at times! I'd just like to say on our behalf that some of us DO have smarts. My college class is studying the Han Dynasty this week. We were asked to write an essay discussing the achievements from the dynasty. I came here in search of inspiration (I feel my text book lacks enough details to effectively write an essay). Seeing as you are in/from China, I hope you will have the answer to my question. I know the Han Dynasty is responsible for the first accurate calendar, but was this calendar based on exactly 365 days or on a close estimate of this?

Mr.Chau(China) replied:

Yes, since the Han Dynasty, the calendar started to be based on 365 days. But before the Han Dynasty, China used the calendar of 366 days.

Nothing about taxes?!?!

Mr.Chau(China) replied:

In the beginning of the Western Han Dynasty, the government implemented a laissez-faire economic policy. As a result, it brought many negative impacts to the society. The rich became richer and richer;the landholders annexed more and more lands. Some local forces were so strong that the government felt the menace of the spreading. After Liu Che was crowned (known as Emperor Wu, Han Wu di), he started a economic reform. He asked his citizens to pay estate tax and income tax. Merchants, usurers and handicrafts industry owners must declare their assets. in order to prevent from making a false report of asset, the government performed the incentive system and used bonus to encourage insiders to tell the truth.
