Even though I don't like Cao Cao very much, after getting a bit into the actual history, not the "modified" version of Luo Guanzhong, I have to admit that he was a very skilled leader and politician.
Liu Bei may have been a more kind ruler, but in the end he did lack some qualities a man needs to unify a country. And even if Cao Cao and his successors were tyrants, they managed to end an era of nearly constant war, which deserves respect.
And lastly he did never let the world betray him.

Liu Bei was too nice for his own good. He wouldn't get far in a world of chaos. Cao Cao was a capable leader who could've taken out the remaining kingdoms had it not been for his defeat at Chi Bi.

In three of the main war lords. Cao Cao was the greatest. He had a "not so great" biography of being grandson of a eunuch, but still, he manage to unified 3/5 of China and became "King of Wei". Liu Bei had no talent at all and just lucky to got Guan Yu and Zhang Fei as his oath brothers. Meanwhile Sun Quan in Jing Nan was only defending himself and never even try to unify China

To my knowledge on this Great Leader of Wei, I have full respect of what he did and the path he took to try to unify China.

Of course the case of my knowledge is all based on a single game and lots of research afterwards. May sound crazy, but Xiahou Dun was the closest thing to a brother than a cousin.

Anyway, Cao Cao (Mengde), was a great influence on the leader of Shu. It seems as though Cao Cao want to in a alliance to crush Wu, knowing that the leader of Shu was weak to take power, and the turn on the alliance to destroy Shu.

Over all, I am a great fan of the Wei Kingdom and the officers that made it what it truely was. Although Wei lasted, I do believe the Wu Kingdom lasted a bit longer then the Wei. I didn't believe it at first, but after some looking into it, I found to my amazed eye's that it was true.
