Is Harbin, Heilongjian closer to Shanghai or Beijing? Is Changzhou closer to Shanghai or Beijing? And, finally, is Kunming City, Yunnan Province closer to Shanghai or Beijing?

Many thanks,

Mr.Shan replied:

Harbin is close to Beijing as well as Changzhou in Jiangsu Provice is nearby Shanghai. The distance between Kunming and Shanghai is a little shorter, but it will take you almost the same time to arrive in Kunming both from Shanghai and Beijing by air.

I am Thai, living in Thailand. Would like to go skiing in Harbin in Jan 2010 but not sure what is the nearest airport or where should I land. Is there any direct flight from Bangkok to Harbin? Or do I have to go thru another city? If so , which city am I suppose to make the transit ? And what is the cheapest flight i could get? Please reply to nectar1811@yahoo.com

looking forward to hearing from you soon.

Mr.Clark replied:

No direct flight from Bangkok to Harbin. You should get to Beijing first and then change another flight or take bulle train to Harbin. There are flights by Air China, Thai Airways International, Bangkok Airway and Air Lanka. You can make a inquiry to the airlines and make a comparison.

What would be the maximum length of days or minimum hours can I book/buy my ticket from Harbin to Shanghai and vice versa? Would it be allright to avail soft seater?

Mr.Shan replied:

Usually, you could purchase the train ticket 10 days in advance until to the train's leaving if there is ticket available~ But, since trains to and from Shanghai are urgently needed all the time, so you's better book the ticket as early as possible. Good luck!
