Mr.Jamie replied:

No. It is quite long by bus and no direct bus at all. Suggest you go by train. T99B runs from Shanghai to Kowloon. It takes over 18 hours journey and the ticket fare is about 530RMB for hard sleeper and 830HKD for soft sleeper.

Hi all,

I need help. I will be arriving on saturday morning Sept 12 in Pudong airport.
My hotel is hyatt at the bund. How to travel efficiently if i am travelling with 2 elderly parents and my sister plus out luggages?
And on my next trip which is on 14 sept, we plan to go to Suzhou, from hyatt at the bund, how to go there?
if by train, which train station? and is it possible to buy train ticket from Shanghai to suzhou on weekends? or I just walk in on monday morning 14 sept to train station? Will I be able to get the ticket directly?
Please help as my travelling date is coming soon.

Thank you

Sep. 8,2009 23:08
Ms.Cindy replied:

Suggest you take taxi from the airport to the hotel. It costs about 150RMB for 50 minutes or so. If you can handle your lugguge, you can take airport bus to Century Av or Pudong South Road, then change to a taxi.
Go to Suzhou by bullet train:
The ticket can be brought at weekends. You can get it directly. The trains are at Shanghai Railway Station.
Take Subway Line 2 at Lujiazui to People's Square then change to Line 1 to Shanghai Railway Station. Or just take a taxi, not very far.

We'll be staying at the Nanjing Hotel, 200 Shangxi South Road, Shanghai. How much would a Taxi cost to get to the YuYuan Garden/Bazaar and to The Bund? If we'll walk, how near/far are those locations to our hotel?
What is the nearest Roman Catholic Church to our Hotel & where is it located? Thank You.

Aug. 29,2009 21:29
Mr.James replied:

The hotel is close to Nanjing East Road Subway Station. you can just walk along the Nanjing East Road to the Bund. It is within 3 km from Yuyuan Garden, which cost you about 11-13 RMB from the hotel. There is a Catholic Church around Jinling East Road and Sichuan South Road cross, not far away from Yuyuan Garden.

From Pudong Airport?! Take Maglev train or airport bus to Long Yang Road. Change to Subway Line 2 to Century Av. then change to Subway Line 6 to Yunshan Road Station or Jinqiao Road Station. You can walk to the place or take a taxi showing the Chinese address to the driver.

hi,
this is my 1st time to shanghai. what s the difference pudong district and new pudong? which part should book the hotel... Hong qiao area or pudong area?

Regards,
carol

Aug. 17,2009 23:12
Mr.James replied:

Dongdong is generally we call the place. As a political divisions of Shanghai like Yangpu, Hongkou districts, it is formally Pudong New Area, perhaps New Pudong Area.
As to the hotel, it depends on where are you going in Shanghai and which airport do you choose to leave Shanghai. Pudong araa seems to be better.
