Olympic torch relay within Sichuan Province postponed to August

The Beijing Organizing Committee for the XXIX Olympiad (BOCOG) has decided to postpone the Olympic Torch Relay within Sichuan Province until August 3 to 5 (original date June 15 to 18), in support of the relief work in the quake-hit areas.

Specifically, the previously scheduled torch relay in these three cities - Dujiangyan, Guanghan and Mianyang has been canceled. From August 3 to 5, the Olympic torch relay within Sichuan Province will progress in Guang'an, Leshan, Zigong, Yibin and Chengdu successively.

During the Three-day National Mourning from May 19 to 21, the Beijing Olympic torch relay was suspended. Yesterday, the relay continued from Ningbo and Jiaxing in Zhejiang Province. According to the BOCOG, the torch relay in the remaining provinces will also be rescheduled.
