Ministry of Railways forbids scissors in hand luggage

China Ministry of Railways has announced that passengers cannot take sharp edged or blunt tools, including scissors, kitchen knives, dinner knives, fruit knives, handicraft knives, steel files, axes and hammers, in hand luggage between July 20 and September 20. Any such articles must be placed in consigned luggage.

According to the regulation previously released by CMR, articles that are completely forbidden in any luggage include: 
 
A. Guns and other weapons (including their main components)
    a. Official guns: pistols, rifles, submachine guns, scatter-guns and baton guns
    b. Civil guns
    c. Other guns: gun models, property guns, starting guns, steel ball guns, tear gas guns, stun guns and extinguisher guns
    d. Other weapons like batons, bows and crossbows
B. Explosive materials:
    a. Ammunition
    b. Blasting materials
    c. Pyrotechnic products: fireworks, firecrackers, black powder and fuses
C. State controlled cutting tools:
    Daggers, three-square tools, backsword and flick knives
D.  Inflammable and explosive materials:
    a. Inflammable liquefied or compressed gases
    b. Inflammable liquid: gasoline, kerosene, diesel, benzene, ethanol (alcohol), acetone, ethyl ether, paint, thinner, sesame oil and other materials containing inflammable solvents
    c. Flammable solids: red phosphorus, flash powder, solid alcohol, celluloid
    d. Self inflammable materials: yellow phosphorus, white phosphorus, nitrification fiber (including film), the oil paper and its products
    e. Combustible materials that react with water
    f. Oxidizing substances and organic peroxides: potassium permanganate, potassium chlorate, sodium peroxide, potassium peroxide, lead peroxide, acetyhydroperoxide and other organic oxides
E. Toxic articles: cyanide, arsenic, mercury, selenium powder, phenol, highly toxic pesticides and other toxic chemicals
F. Corrosive and radioactive articles
