Beijing: parks to feature flower exhibitions for Olympics

Since July 29, a grand flower exhibition with the theme of 'Chinese Civilization, Glorious Olympics' has been presented in eleven Beijing Parks. The displays will be open during the Beijing Olympics and Paralympics and will last untill September 20.

 

It is said that sixty flowerbed groups consisting of over five million pots of flowers are now on display in the parks. Twenty species of flowers, including traditional Chinese blooms such as orchids, chrysanthemums, Chinese roses, laurel and lotus as well as newly introduced plants such as African balsamine and spiny spider flower are on show. The 11 parks and themes of the flower exhibitions are as below:
