Panzhihua Earthquake interrupts Chengdu-Kunming Railway

The Panzhihua Earthquake has damaged many sections of Chengdu-Kunming Railway, resulting in the suspension of many trains to Chengdu as announced by the Kunming Railway Department.

 

Train No.K166 leaving on September 3rd from Kunming to Xian will make a detour to Hukun (Shanghai - Kunming), Chuanqian (Sichuan - Guizhou), Xiangyu (Xiangfan - Chongqing) and Xikang (Xian - Ankang) Lines. On the other hand, train No.K146 leaving from Kunming to Chengdu and train No.6162 leaving from Kunming to Panzhihua will be suspended.

 

Trains No. K114 leaving from Kunming to Chengdu and No.2648 leaving from Kunming to Xichang will also be suspended on September 3rd and 4th. Passengers traveling to Chengdu are advised to travel by trains to Chongqing, after which to transfer to either planes or buses via Zhaotong in Yunnan Province.
