Wulingyuan Scenic Area, a UNESCO World Heritage site in Hunan Province, will be open to visitors from December 25th to 31st as part of the ongoing World Heritage preservation publicity campaign held by Zhangjiajie City.

The core zone of the Wulingyuan Scenic Area, including the Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, Suoxiyu Natural Resource Reserve, Tianzi (son of heaven) Mountain Natural Resource Reserve and Yangjiajie Scenic Area will be open to worldwide visitors free of charge. However, visitors will still have to pay for sightseeing buses, ropeways and elevators.

To help more people recognize and cherish this world heritage, Zhangjiajie hosted the World Heritage Week in the last week of 2007. This year, Zhangjiajie City named December as the "World Heritage Month” to raise people’s awareness of world heritage preservation.
