The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) announced Wednesday that passengers on board domestic flights will be allowed to carry lighters, matches and liquids from December 20.
According to the new regulation, each passenger is allowed to carry one lighter (except windproof one) or one box of matches as carry-on luggage, but it must undergo a separate security check. However, passengers are still not allowed to carry lighters and matches in the consigned luggage.
The new restriction on liquid items for passengers traveling on international/regional flights is the same to the previous one that was issued on March 17, 2007.
Passengers on domestic flights are allowed to bring liquid goods except flammable and explosives ones. The maximum capacity of each container should be less than 100 milliliters, and the total capacity should be less than 1000 milliliters. The carrying of alcohol in the carry-on luggage is still prohibited.
Passengers who suffered from diabetes and other diseases are allowed to bring liquid medicine after presenting medical certificates or the doctor’s prescriptions. Passengers who have infants on board are allowed to carry liquid milk products after safety inspection.
