Beijing West Railway Station to add 135 temporary ticket windows

Beijing West Railway Station announced Tuesday that it will add 135 temporary ticket windows and 55 temporary passenger trains from December 31st to provide better service for passengers during the upcoming travel peak around the Spring Festival.

 

Beijing West Railway Station predicted that the passengers would reach over 10 millions at the station, the record-high number in the station’s transportation history of 13 years.

 

At present, fifteen temporary ticket windows have been built at the northern square of the station, which are ready for operation. The other 120 temporary ticket windows at the parking place in the west of the station will be put into service before January 11th, 2009. The total number of ticket windows at the station will reach 240.

 

Also, the station will add temporary waiting halls on the two floors underground. The area of the waiting halls will reach 25,115 square yards, which can accommodate 25,000 passengers. Besides, the station will add 800 underground parking spaces.
