Ticket Prices for Beijing Olympic Games Were Announced

This morning, the ticket prices for Beijing Olympic Games were announced by Beijing Organizing Committee for the XXIX (BOCOG). Of all the tickets, 58% will be sold at the price of 100 Yuan or lower than 100 Yuan.

 

Ticket prices for sport events will be 30 Yuan to 1,000 Yuan of which the ones for preliminary events will be lower than 300 Yuan (including 300 Yuan) and for the finals will be between 60 to 1,000 Yuan. The lowest prices for the opening ceremony and the closing ceremony are 200 Yuan and 150 Yuan respectively and the highest prices for the two ceremonies are 5,000 Yuan and 3,000 Yuan respectively. Some of the sport events such as road bike, road walk and marathon are free of charge.

 

In addition, according to the Olympic Education Program, 14% of the tickets are sold at special price to Chinese youth encouraging them to watch games on spot. For preliminary events, the ticket price will be 5 Yuan and for the finals will be 10 Yuan.

 

The tickets for Beijing Olympic Games will began to be sold in the first half of 2007 in China. The detailed prices will be revealed at the same time. Besides 50% of the tickets being sold in public, tickets will be sold to IOC, Organizing Committees of different countries, and sponsors etc.
