Beijing, the Capital city of China, is the most popular city in China for tourists from abroad and native. It is packed with sights of ancient and modern. There are 2,666 temples, 551 cultural relics and 189 cultural sites under national protection in Beijing now. Beijing's most famous attraction, the Great Wall, is quite a way out of the city. Also, the Ming Tombs, the Western Hills and several other sites require excursions from Beijing. Other top attractions in Beijing includes the Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, the Temple of Heaven and the Summer Palace. Generally four days is enough for Beijing visit. However, if you want to explore the city deeply, maybe you have to live in this city for some year, hoho...

Using the phone in China is as easy as at your home. A phone is available in nearly all hotels. On the street there are a lot of phone boxes. Bring an IC card then you can use them. What is worth doing is buying a Chinese Telecom SIM card, they are about RMB100 and with this you get RMB50 in calls ,the other 50 is for the price of the SIM card; this SIM card will go into all major brand phones and work OK.

By doing this, people can reach you within and out of China if there is an emergency. If you have a couple of phones, you can short(txt) message each other(SMS). Also you are able to call your tourist guide, hotel etc if you have any major problems. It is a cheap way to keep in touch.

NB: Before you buy a Chinese SIM card, check that it will work in your Cell/ Mobile phone. There are plenty of China Telecom shops that can help.

When took the tour in china, our guide told us repeatedly do not carry a backpack on the back in crowded places. If you have no choice, make sure there is no money, passport, phone, or other valuables in it. Someone may use a knife to cut a hole in the pack and quickly take something out. May sound strange, but it happened to a friend of mine on a bus.
