Recommended cycling time: 2-3 hours without visiting timeLet's start the tour from the Temple of Earth in eastern Beijing, which is the largest group of structures in China dedicated to rituals that pay homage to the glory of heaven. The temple is full of layer of old cypress and is famous Peking key point of interest. 40 to 60 minutes visiting is enough to appreciate the elite of this spot.
Bike tour in BeijingCycling south ward and passing the Anding Gate along the Dongdajie Avenue, you will be at the Yonghegong Street. On the west of the street, there are the Confucian Temple and the Imperial College, while the Lama Temple is situated at the east of the Yonghegong Street. If you are interested, you are stop by for a short visit.
Then travel south along the Yonghegong Street to traverse the Beixinjie Bridge. The famous Jiudaowan Hutong, which has lots of twists and turns, is at the northern side of the bridge. The Hutong twists and winds as a circle and you can be sure to return to the starting point if you take along the correct way. It is better to store the bike at the entrance of the Hutong since it is narrow inside. Be sure to follow the signposts, or you will definitely get lost there. Here you will see the old Sihe yards and lots of pretty brick sculptures and stone drums.
Ride northward to reach the Gui Street (Ghost Street) which is on the Dongzhimen Nei Avenue. The Gui Street is really a special scene in the city. There are many classy restaurants as well as the good and cheap hash houses, most of which are opening for 24 hours. All of the architectures are ornamented with red decorations and red lanterns.
Beijing HutongCycle east along the Dongzhimen Nei Avenue; you will arrive at Sanlitun, the most popular bar street in the metropolis. In fact there are two streets in Sanlitun area, separated by a crossroad, one "Elegant" on the south, the other "Vulgar" on the north. Sanlitun Bar Street is on the south road. The street may be quiet in day-time, however, it will be totally another vibrant world at night.
Continue ride eastward to the North Road of the Northern Third Ring Road, and you will find the National Agriculture Exhibition Museum on the east side Nongzhan Bridge. It is well-located and easy of access, hence become the best place to hold large scale exhibitions and be the stage for large activities. To the east of the exhibition hall is Chaoyang Park, which is a large comprehensive amusement park in theme of city landscaping and greening. It plays an import role at improving the quality of Beijing environment and enriching the culture life of the local people.
