Day 01Arrival in Beijing

Our professional tour guide will welcome you outside the customs of Beijing Airport after you retrieve your luggage and clear the customs, and then transfer you to the hotel. The rest of the day is on your own to explore the city.

Day 02Beijing

You will visit Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City this morning. As the largest city center square in the world, Tiananmen Square has many constructions of great historical significance built on it. Keeping strolling to the north end of the square, you will reach the Forbidden City, an imperial palace with a history of more than 600 years. Then an a la carte lunch is served at a very nice restaurant for you to taste the authentic Chinese food, which is to avoid the tourist eateries arranged by most agencies now. In the afternoon, explore the Temple of Heaven which was originally built by the imperial family to worship the Gods of Heaven. After the day's sightseeing tour, you will enjoy a lively Chinese Kung Fu Show at the Red Theatre.

Fenghuang ancient town, Hunan

Day 03Beijing

In the morning, you are going to take an excursion to the well-known Badaling Great Wall. In ancient China, the Great Wall was not only built as a military defense system, but also used to send messages by firing the beacon towers on the wall. Rather than shopping site restaurants, a delicious Sichuan cuisine lunch is served for you at a popular local restaurant to recruit your physical energy. The trip will be extended to the Sacred Way and the Ming Tomb in the afternoon. The Sacred Way is actually the road leading to the main part of the Ming Tomb. Stone statues are standing on both sides of it to guard the emperors' mausoleums. Passing through the Sacred Way, you will enter the Ming Tombs, a group of mausoleums surrounded by mountains and plants. On the way back to downtown Beijing, we will drive by the Bird's Nest (Olympic National Stadium). A stop will be made for you to admire its amazing appearance.

Day 04Beijing - Zhangjiajie

Today's visit starts from China's largest imperial garden, the Summer Palace, which earns its reputation for the perfect combination of natural landscape and gardening design. You will see the Ming and Qing style buildings connected by zigzagging corridors and bridges distributing among the hills and lakes harmoniously. Then you will have a Hutong tour to experience the original Beijing culture by taking a special rickshaw riding through the various Hutongs and to know about Old Beijing's manners and customs.  After enjoying a tasty a la carte lunch at a well-known local restaurant, you will take a flight to Zhangjiajie and check in the hotel.

Zhangjiajie scenic area, Hunan

Day 05Zhangjiajie

You will spend the full day to visit Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, which is renowned for the picturesque landscape of large coverage of green plants, tranquil creeks as well as grotesque peaks and rocks. The first famous attraction you will visit is the Yellow Stone Stronghold (Huangshizhai), where the main scenic spots are Tranquil Trail in Fir Woods, Imperial Edict and the Precious Box, Needle Peak, the Southern Gate to Heaven and Five-Finger Peak. Then go to the Golden Whip Stream (Jinbian Stream), where the crystal water reflects the shadow of the green trees, ridges and peaks.

Day 06Zhangjiajie – Fenghuang

This morning you will visit Tianzi Mountain Natural Reserve, which earns its reputation for the stunning view of peaks and is known as 'the monarch of the peak forest' and the Ten-mile gallery, with picturesque sceneries, will make you enjoy a lot. Then you will take a long journey to Fenghuang Cheng (Phoenix Town). The whole driving from Zhangjiajie to Fenghuang will take about 5 hours, thus it will be a little bit tiring, please get ready for this long drive beforehand. Upon arrival at Fenghuang, you will register in the best local hotel.

Day 07Fenghuang – Zhangjiajie Exit

After breakfast, you will visit Fenghuang Ancient Town, which is located beside Tuojiang River and surrounded by mountains from three sides. Walking along the narrow alleys paved with flagstones, you will enjoy the elegant and peaceful natural beauty and discover the history of the town and the unique culture of Miao ethnic group. You will also pay a visit to the former residence of Shen Congwen and learn about this versatile Chinese writer. In the afternoon, we will drive you back to Zhangjiajie and see you off at the airport.
