Beijing Zoo, not recommended

If you must go to this concentration camp for some of the worlds greatest animals so be it but be prepared to be upset and disturbed by what you will see. All the animals including The Pandas, Lions, Tigers, Bears and the Wolves are kept in small pens/cages with very little to occupy or stimulate them so a number of the animals show signs of mental problems. This and the problem of people both parents and children shouting and throwing things at the animals to attract there attention and encourage them to move make the trip one to be missed. I would say if you did want to see probably the best looked after Pandas in the world go to Ocean Park in Hong Kong they have got to be the “happiest” in captivity.

The Military Museum of Chinese Peoples Revolution is now in a separate big building near Junshibowuguan subway station, the map even calls the station 'military museum'. It is across from a McDonalds (of course). Adults are 20 yuan. SOme tanks, vehicles, rockets, guns, and Chinese version of history.
Hours are 8:30 to 17:00

The Museum of Natural History has the Human Body exhibit is a small building near the exit gate. Quite interesting.

If you go to the Lama Temple in Beijing make sure to stop off at the restaurant that is a couple of hundred metres north.

It is a big multi-storied fancy-looking place that you might imagine is expensive. It's not.

The name is Jing Ding Xuan and it sells Cantonese-style dim sum and other tiny delights from all over China.

I don't like shui jiao (boiled dumplings) but I like them at Jing Ding Xuan. The leaf-wrapped rice and chicken is great too.

It's also a good example of a very "renao" Chinese eatery.
