Located 300km away from Beijing, Wuqiao is a national famous county for the acrobatic achievements. It is also regarded as the supreme headquarters of the Chinese acrobatics. There are countless ties between lots of acrobats and Wuqiao County. Some of them are local Wuqiao people, while others learn acrobatic skills here. The history of the Wuqiao acrobatics can be traced to A.D.534- A.D.550 of the East Wei Dynasty. When the locals cleaned up their farmlands in 1958, an ancient tomb in Xiao Ma Chang Village, Wuqiao County was discovered. The murals inside the tomb described the acrobatic art vividly. And from the Wuqiao county annals, we know that the acrobatic art became prosperous in the Ming Dynasty. And it was said that the local people in ancient time were very poor because of the lean soil, the flood and the chaos of the war, so they performed the original simple acrobatics to make a living, and then the acrobatic show took root and blossomed among the populace. It is said that Fantun Village of Wuqiao County only has 300 families but more than 20 persons perform the acrobatic shows abroad and more than 50 persons are leading actors or coaches in some big acrobatic troupes. There are also more than 400 local peasants and students who can perform the acrobatic show for visitors.

Perhaps there are two options:
One, buy fiver berth tickets, 3 in one compartment while 2 in another, sharing with one or two Chinese;
Two, buy 8 berth tickets, namely two whole compartments, also 3 in one compartment while 2 in another separately.
It depends on you. If you are reluctant to stay with others, you may choose option 2. It also can leave you more space for your luggages. If it is not a problem, option 1 could be more economical.

I read lots of tips and comments on the website and got known that for long distance train travel, the soft sleeper train is the best choice. I know generally there are 4 bunks in each comparment, but we are a family of 5 people, how can we arrange the tickets? Do we need to buy two whole compartments? Any better way to follow? BTW, we would like to train from Beijing to Xian and back.

This summer, I visited Beijing and Xian in China. I took overnight soft sleeper train from Beijing to Xian, which saved me one night hotel room. When I got on the train, I found that Chinese train is different from western style train. On the train in China, the soft-sleeper carriages are divided into separate compartments and each compartment has two lower and two upper berths. Since I only purchase one of upper berths, I shared the compartment with another three strangers, who were all Chinese. It was a little bit strange to stay in one compartment with strangers at the beginning. But those three Chinese were very freindly and one young man could speak a little English. I spent a good time on the train.
