Day 01Entry Guilin

Our guide will pick you up outside the baggage claim area of the airport and accompany you to the 4-star Guilin Bravo Hotel (former Holiday Inn Hotel). The rest of the day is free for you to have a good rest or explore the city. During this natural scenery tour, you will have a feast for eyes.

Day 02Guilin - Longsheng - Sanjiang

After breakfast, you will head for Longsheng to visit the Dragon's Backbone Rice Terraces. Some 27 kilometers (16 miles) away from the town of Longsheng, the terraces stretch layer upon layer from the mountain base to its summit. From the 13th century during the Yuan Dynasty, the local Zhuang people started to construct and use the amazing terraces. Now, the Dragon's Backbone Rice Terraces cover an area of 66 square kilometers (about 16,308 acres) and span an altitude between 300 meters (about 984 feet) and 1,100 meters (about 3,608 feet). Standing on the mountain, you will be shocked by the patches of fields and curve lines around the mountains. You will then pay a visit to the Villages of Zhuang and Yao minority to experience the unique Chinese ethnic culture and see the Suspension Bridge in small size. Then continue the trip to Sanjiang and check in the local 3-star Sanjiang Hotel.

Day 03Sanjiang - Guilin

Today you will take a Dong Minority tour to the Dong Village in Sanjiang. Situated at the foot of mountains and surrounded by rivers, Dong Village features well-preserved residential houses and charming natural landscape. In the village, you will see the landmark constructions of Dong village, the Wind and Rain Bridge and the Drum Tower. Constructed with wood and bricks, the Wind and Rain Bridge blend the styles of bridge, corridor and kiosk into a whole, reflecting the unique Dong style and the wisdom of the Dong people. The bridge was built to provide a shelter for the people who works in fields, but later became a date place for the young people and a famous attraction to visitors at home and abroad. When you see the lofty pointed tower with upturned eaves, you will know that you come to a Dong Village. The Drum Tower is always located in the center of a village, acting as the political and cultural center. Every time when the chief of the village beats the drum on the top floor, villagers will stop their work and get together around the Drum Tower. You will then take a comfortable car-ride back to Guilin and have a good rest at the hotel.

Li River cruise

Day 04Guilin - Yangshuo

In the morning, you will take a cruise tour along Li River down to Yangshuo where picturesque scenery comes into view all the way: numerous hills and peaks flank along the river and reflect the shadows on the crystal water, while patches of fields decorate the banks on both sides. Upon arrival in Yangshuo, you will check in the 4-star New Century Hotel for a two-night stay. After a short rest, continue your visit to the West Street which is a 1,400-year-old traditional Southern Chinese street but shows the unique international flavor because of the large number of foreign residents here. A country road bicycle tour is specially arranged for you to enjoy the beautiful natural scenery of Yangshuo. Or we can also transfer you there instead of riding bicycles. On the way, you will stop over at a villager's home to learn more about the local farmers' life. Tips: Today's lunch onboard the cruise ship may fail to meet with your approval and TravelChinaGuide is aware of the shortcomings. You should prepare for the cruise with a generous breakfast at the hotel.

A leisurely trip in Yangshuo

Day 05Yangshuo

The whole day is free for you to explore the small town of Yangshuo. If you are keen to enjoy the natural beauty, you may rent a bicycle to ride around the country road or to visit the famous Moon Hill and the Big Bayan Tree. The Moon Hill is so named because there is a huge perforative hole on the mountain top which looks like a full moon. When watching from different angles, you will see different shapes of the moon. The Big Banyan Tree was planted 1,500 year ago during the Jin Dynasty. Though has a history of over 1,500 years, the tree is still full of life, like a giant green umbrella providing a natural shelter for passers-by. At night, you can take a stroll along the West Street, stop at any of the bars and have a leisure drink with your companions. You don't need to worry about communication with the shop or bar owners, because most locals speak fluent English and many of the owners are from English-speaking countries.

Day 06Guilin Exit

You will return to Guilin and have a city tour to three famous attractions. The first destination is the Reed Flute Cave which is one of China's most noted karst caves some 5 km (3.1 miles) away from the downtown area. You will see various shapes of stalagmites and stalactites which bear interesting names, like Dragon Pagoda, Crystal Palace and Primeval Forest. Then you will proceed to the Elephant Trunk Hill. Regarded as the emblem of Guilin City, the hill is a naturally formed karst rock resembling a giant elephant. Taking photos in front of the hill will definitely be a memorable thing for you. The last stop is Fubo Hill where you will be fascinated by the beautiful landscape, numerous historical items and stone carvings. Afterwards, our private transfer will take you to the airport for your onward flight. Fare well and have a pleasant trip home.
