Then you will be guided to visit the Jinma Biji Square in the city center area. Day 2 Visit the Stone Forest and the Golden Temple
Our clients visiting the Stone Forest
Today your Kunming city tour will continue to the Shilin Yi Autonomous County, where the renowned Stone Forest is located. After about two hours driving, we will reach this large site. The Stone Forest is a set of limestone formations, most in the shape of stalagmites, looking like a forest made of stones. You must be curious how those formations were made. Once upon a time, there was a vast sea here. After millions of years' accumulation and erosion, the limestone were shaped and uplifted until the water was drained. The magic Stone Forest is like a maze, but don't worry, your guide will navigate you through it.

After lunch, we will visit the Golden Temple, which is located on the top of Mingfeng Hill, about 5 miles from the downtown. As a Taoist temple, the Golden Temple is the largest copper temple in China. You will climb up on a series of winding stone steps, then pass through three heavenly gates and finally arrive at the Golden Temple. The hillside around the temple abounds with many sorts of trees and flowers, most of which are Camellias.
