Hani Minority people

Jianshui City, located in the south of Yunnan Province, the north shore of Red River middle reach, is a beautiful land with the reputation of " land of the grain and sugar cane" in the past. The following short trip starts from this small fertile land.

If you have a private car, you are suggested to drive along the Express Way from Jianshui to Jijie Town, then take the No. 326 National Way from Jijie Town to Mengzi County, then continue to drive along the No. 326 National Way to Hekou Town to process the visit on the second day.

For the self-arranged tour, you are suggested to take the coach to Mengzi County to visit the South Lake. South Lake, located in the south part of Wenlan Town, Mengzi County, Honghe Hani and Yi Minority Autonomous Prefecture, is formed by the accumulation of the natural rain water. It was used as Batardeau pond in Ming Dynasty, and there were three mud hills named Penglai, Fangzhang and Yingzhou Island respectively. It became the meeting place for the intellectuals and poets with the passage of time. The South Lake formed its present style after twists and turns with the changes of the history. There is also the monument of the famous patriotic poet - Wen Yiduo erected in the island in the lake center. After the visit in South Lake, transfer to Yuanshi Cave, which also called Kwan-yin Cave, located in the Lingjiu Village, Mingjiu County, 38 kilometers from the Mengzi County. With the tall and straight ancient pine trees, the fruit trees, flowers and plants cusion, the dancing flying butterflies, the surrounding scenery there is very natural and attractive. There are about 123 steps from the foot of the cave to the entrance with the vertical height of 30 meters or so, and you will appreciate the splendid karst scenery there after you ascended these steps. The vivid animal-like karsts will be appeared before your eyes after you enter the cave 10 meters or so, some like elephant, some like galloping horse, some even like unicorn with the ferocious eyes, etc., which is really incomparable and it is the perfect combination of the nature power and the wisdom of the ancient people. Transfer back to Jianshui city after the short stay there. The Lin'an Hotel in Jianshui is recommended, located in the No. 1 Beizheng Road, Jianshui County (00-86-08737651888), and it is a fine and reliable two-star hotel in Jianshui County.

Daweishan Nature Preserve

The second day, take the regular bus to Daweishan Nature Preserve Area. 15 kilometers of Pingbian County, this Nature Preserve Area is made of 19 scenic sites. With the virgin forests, rare and precious endangered animals and plants, this preserve area belongs to theprovincial level nature preserve area, and it got the authorization from the Yun'nan Government in August, 1993. Take the advantage of knowing something about the rare and precious endangered animals and plants and enjoy the natural beauty in Daweishan Nature Preserve Area. Transfer to Hekou in the afternoon to see the Vietnam Street, which located in the north bank of Red River, Hekou Town. Various kinds of local products of Vietnam will be shown in simple tents. Transfer back to Jianshui, or you can go cross the river to Vietnam if you like.
