Start from Yangshuo in the morning, and we suggest you take a detailed map with you. Reach Yangshuo Bridge after cycling 10 minutes along Guanlian Road, Shutong Mountain on your right hand is one of the classical scenic sports in Yangshuo. About 30 minutes later after you pass a tunnel, Fuli old town is in front of you and awaits your exploration. Here you can visit the old buildings and several fan making workshops. It is said that every family here is able to paint and many famous Chinese artists are from Fuli.

Go out of town and turn left. This is the road to Xing Ping. After cycling for some twenty minutes, you can visit the Che Lang Hill; continue your journey for about another three hours, passing Gu Feng Kiosk and West Hill and you will arrive at Xing Ping old town. Visit this ancient and beautiful town and stay overnight here at a hostel or a home-stay. There are a few small restaurants available for visitors near the dock, which you may care to try.

The old mountain fastness is the best place to appreciate the beauty of Xing Ping. A Chinese artist once complimented the town of Xing Ping by describing it as the most beautiful place in Yangshuo. It may need about half an hour to climb to the top of the mountain and this is the best to view the sunrise. Or, you may take your bicycle about 500 meters by passing Xing Ping Bridge to visit the scenery at Chaobanshanfang, where lots of local people swim during the hot summer weather.

Cycling in Yangshuo

On the morning of your second day, after witnessing the sunrise in Xing Ping, take the bamboo raft to the other side of the river, where Dahebei Village is located, cycle for about 20 minutes along the narrow path within the village to reach LuoShi Yan (this is an old path built during the Qing Dynasty), then pass Dalingzhou, you need to push your bicycle for about 1km up to the mountain to HuangNi Tian, the roads here can be muddy and after about one hour, you will reach Dalingtou Village, the nearby Hebao Mountain has a height of 200 meters and is a good place for sightseeing. Climb to the top of this mountain, you can look down and admire the scenic course of the Li River.

Continue your journey for about two hours along the farm road to the Stone City, then head for about another 7km to Pu Tao. This may take you more than an hour with poor road condition. The scenery is very good when you cycling down from the mountain, with cole flowers in spring and golden rice fields in autumn.

When you are in Pu Tao, you will find the road that will take you past Xanadu, Wulidian and Baisha, and back to Yangshuo.
