Hohhot - Hohhot is the Green City in Mongolian. There are over 50 temples located here, so Hohhot is also famed as the Zhao City and Zhao means temple in Mongolian. Day 03Hohhot

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Hotel: Holiday Inn Hotel (4 star)

Descriptions:
Tomb of Zhaojun - The Tomb of Zhaojun is one of the top eight tour destinations of Hohhot. Wang Zhaojun is praised to be one of the four famous beauties in ancient China due to her great contribution of unifying the Han and Hun. In 33 BC, Wang Zhaojun, a palace lady of the Han's Emperor Yuan, volunteered to marry the Hun's Khan in return for a 50-year's peaceful friendship of the Han Dynasty and the nomadic Hun.

Dazhao Lamasery - Dazhao Lamasery is the oldest and the largest Buddhist temple in Hohhot which was constructed in 1580 during the Ming Dynasty. It is also called the Silver Buddha Temple because a silver statue of Sakyamuni was positioned there. This 2.5-meter high statue was carved by the craftsmen from Nepal and then was unveiled by the third Tibetan Dalai Lama. Besides of it, this temple is also noted for the other two treasures. One is the two lively carved dragons on the golden pillars on the two sides of the statue, and the other one is the vivid fresco on the walls of the halls.

Just back home from our long China trip, we are still indulged in the beautiful China scenery. For your advice: Inner Mongolia has extreme weather. The difference in temperature between day and night is dramatic. Warm clothing is necessary when you visit this region. It is also one of the driest areas in China. Remember to keep hydrated and carry moisturizing lotion to protect your skin.
