Snow sculptures, Sun Island Scenic Spot

Harbin is a city that not only arouses your interests during the period of Ice Festival in Winter, but also is a place full of other wonderful scenic spots.

Harbin is taken for granted as the hottest destination in January each year because of the worldwide Ice Festival, it boasts other splendid tourist attractions. Follow the recommended route below and your outlook will be broadened.

After arrival in Harbin, the first thing you should do is to recover from jet lag. Have a good rest in the local hotel and refresh yourselves on the first day.

After getting stuffed in the morning, you should leave for the famous summer resort - Sun Island Scenic Spots, whose name was derived from the Manchu dialect. It is about 4 kilometers away from the city. You can view the nice scenery along the Songhua River when passing by the Songhuajiang Road Bridge. The entrance fee is CNY30. Pay a visit to the Sun Island Park, the major scenic area in this resort, the Squirrel Island, Sun Waterfall and Sun Rock. If you are keen on the snow sculptures, you may pay an extra CNY90 to appreciate the exquisitely carved artworks. Another CNY60 is needed if you intend to visit the ice lights on display indoors. Go to the main path when you come out of the Sun Island and then you can take bus No. 88 to get to Siberian Tiger Park, where you can observe the lively tiger. Afterwards, continue to visit the Cenotaph - the landmark of Harbin, Stalin Park, the St. Sofia Orthodox Church. In the evening, it is quite joyful and pleasant when you stroll along the Central Street with exotic flavors.

Mt. Changbaishan

On the third day, you are advised to take the soft seat train N1 to Mudanjiang. The train departs at 08: 15 and arrives at 13: 10. After lunch, visit another cenotaph in memory of eight female heroes during the War in the Jiangbin Park. Continue to take the bus to the Jingbo Lake. It is about an hour's driving. Take the bus to Jingbo scenic area, which takes about 2 hours and a half. It is quite convenient for you to lodge there. You'd better take the electric car to approach the lake area at the cost of CNY10 per time. Jingbo Lake is rich in aquatic products, so it is a must to have the fish there.

On the fourth day morning, start to appreciate the splendid scenery by ship, the cruise ticket  is CNY80. Your eyes will be feasted with astonishment as you go further. Return to Mudanjiang by bus and connect the soft seat train 2168 16: 29/ 22: 54 to Yanji.

Changbaishan Mountain is recommended for you today. The direct bus to Changbai Mountain is available at South Yanji Coach Station. You can also take the regular bus to Erdaobaihe and then charter a bus to reach the destination. It takes about 4 hours to get there. You are required to take the bus managed by the scenic area first to approach the mountain, it is charged CNY68 per person. Along the way, you can appreciate the Beauty Pine, the Birch Belt and Julong Hot Spring, the temperature is high enough that the egg can even be boiled. You can taste at your own expense. Enjoy the magnificence of Heavenly Lake and the Waterfall there. Take the bus back to Yanji and connect the soft sleeper train N168 23: 45/ 08: 30 for Changchun.

Puppet Imperial Palace, Changchun

You will arrive in Changchun in the morning, and then you have the opportunity to know more about the mystery of film making by visiting the Changchun Film Studio, the admission fee is CNY35. Stroll in the Changchun Culture Square, and do the sightseeing in the Puppet  Imperial Palace. Take the soft seat train T548 15: 04/ 18: 07 for Shenyang. Stay overnight there.

On the last day, head for the Imperial Palace built during the reign of Nuerhachi and Huangtaiji, the admission fee is CNY50. It is open from 08: 30 to 17: 00 from May to Oct, and 09: 00 to 17: 00 for the rest of the year. You can take bus No. 10, 13, 213, 222 to be there.  You can make your trip more pleasurable by taking a rickshaw which is available outside Palace. Wander along the Manqing Street and the Pedestrain Street. It is also worthwhile to visit the the Patriot Zhangxueliang and his father's Old Residences. Your pleasant trip finishes here.
