We have toured Lijiang on budget last week and the accommodation has left us deep impression. Today I recommend it to you. It’s called Xinyuege Kezhan(inn) and is located at Dayan old town in Lijiang. The architectural style of it is characterized with Naxi features. Yard is quite big and sitting in it taking a sunbath can be rather cozy. Rooms are clean and 24-hour hot water shower is readily offered, may be that is why so many foreign visitors chose there to stay when they tour Lijiang. Service there is also quite good and if you don’t wanna have meals in restaurants in the town, the cook of inn would be willing to prepare
Naxi food for you or prepare the food according to your request at very low price. Free internet access is also offered. The most important point is that on the second floor there are two scenery view room, through which you can enjoy the panorama of the old town and charisma of Mt. Yulong. But the two rooms are always in great demand, we had no chance to enjoy them because they were already been booked several days before we got there. The last point is that it is very quiet though is adjacent to Sifang street. Hope this
could be a help to budget travelers.

I've just spent a couple of wonderful days in the lovely city of Lijiang. I love the stuff and cheap snack which is available at anytime of the day. I think you need a least a full day to see all the old town properly as there are so many little streets and backalleys to explore. Most of the major streets are full of tourists but the ones further away are very quiet and give you more of a feel of what the old town must have been like. There are some good views of the mountainous backdrops if you climb up beyond the rooftops and they present good photos. All in all the best time to visit the old town is early in the morning while everyone is still asleep but it's also great in the twilight of evening and night, just when all the lights are coming to their brightness. Have fun!
