Guiyang City Tour

Enjoying fame for its beauty, on a tableland in the southwest of China, Guiyang boasts spectacular scenic spots and rich folklore. A kindly semitropical climate makes it quite delightful for sightseeing in and around the city in all seasons, to the Qianling Park, Jiaxiu Tower, Fufeng Mountain and the Tianhe Pool.

Jiaxiu Tower, Guiyang

A visit to the Qianling Park and Jiaxiu Tower can be scheduled on the first day. You may take bus No. 1 from the railway station bus stop at the cost of CNY1.00 to Qianling Park (Address: Qianling Town, Yunyan District, Guiyang). Alternatively, taking a taxi from the city center at a cost of CNY10.00 could also take you to the site. Combining lush forest, pure fountains, ancient temples, blue lake, and wild animals with Qianlin Mountain, Qianlin Park is one of the most attractive areas in Guiyang city. The admission fee is CNY15.00 per person for Qinling Park.

Built in early Qing Dynasty, the Hongfu Temple on Qianlin Mountain is an ancient group of buildings with main palace, halls, shrines and corridors. Climbing to the Wangzhu Pavilion on top of the mountain, you will get a panoramic view of the beautiful scenery of Guiyang. Alternatively, you can take the cable car to reach the mountain top.

After that, you may take bus No. 1 or a taxi to Jiaxiu Tower (First Scholar's Tower), which has long been the landmark of Guiyang. With a unique construction style, Jiaxiu Tower has stood in its elegance on Nanming River for more than 400 years. The Tower also houses many authentic examples of calligraphy, paintings and stone tables. Standing on the tower, you can have a very good view of the pleasant surroundings. When night falls, lamps hung from the eaves illuminate the tower, looking as if it wears flimsy voilé, making the atmosphere more charming. The admission fee is CNY4.00 per person.

Tianhe Pool, Guiyang

The day after, take bus No. 11 or a taxi to Fufeng Hill outside the East Gate. The bus will cost you CNY1.00 per person and the taxi will cost about CNY10.00. The hill is called Jianshan or Snail Hill by the locals as the rocks resemble a snail in shape. There are significant Temples on the hill, for example the Yangming Temple and Fufeng Temple.  The admission fee is CNY5.00 per person.

At a later time, you may take bus No. 26 or No. 38 to Tianhe Pool in the northwest of Huaxi district. The clear pool is formed by the water of an underground river collecting in an immense sunken pit. It is surrounded on all sides by cliffs with lush trees. In the cliffs, there are two limestone caves. One is a water limestone cave and the other is a dry limestone cave. You can first visit the first one by water and then the other one by land. The admission fee for simply viewing is CNY10.00 per person. But we suggest you spent CNY50.00 to buy a coupon ticket, which includes the cruise ticket in the water limestone cave. But, caution! You are advised to follow the other visitors closely, to avoid getting lost in the vast limestone cave.

Return to Guiyang by bus No. 211, which is available every half - hour.

concerning the textile market, products are much better and nicer, but it is very touristic and prices are very very high.
