In the Beihai Park, five pavilions are connected to each other by bridges, floating on the surface of the water like five dragons playing on the water, thus, the Five-Dragon Pavilions got its name. It was built in the Ming Dynasty (1368 - 1644) and was repaired in the Qing Dynasty (1644 - 1911).
