Enjoying the fame as the Most Famous Street in China, Changan Avenue is considered to be the widest and longest street in the world. Actually, this street is only 4 kilometers (2.5 miles) long, but it is so straight that it seems to be limitless from one end as far as the eye can see. Demarcated by the Tiananmen Square, the eastern and western parts are named as East Changan Avenue and West Changan Avenue respectively. It is the east-west axis of the Beijing City, connected with a series of streets.
