Pictures of Court Area
The Court Area, located to the northeast of Kunming Lake, was the place where Empress Dowager Cixi and Emperor Guangxu in the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) handled state affairs. The famous Hall of Benevolence and Longevity, and the Hall of Joyful Longevity can be found in this area. It is the best place to appreciate the beauty of the whole Summer Palace.
