Huangyao Ancient Town is located in the northeast of Zhaoping County, Hezhou City, about 200 kilometers from Guilin. It has a history of more than 1,000 years, which developed in the Song Dynasty (960-1279), built during the Wanli Period (1573-1619) of the Ming Dynasty and prospered during the reign of Emperor Qianlong (1735-1796). Huang and Yao Family predominate in this town, so it is named Huangyao Town.
