It is best to take a bullet train. You may arrive within 10min and the cost is CNY5.5 for a second class seat and CNY6.5 for a first class seat. Personally, it is the most efficient way.

Does the bullet train have any specific timing or it runs all the day every time?

Oh, seven bullet trains are in service daily from 07:30 to 19:55. You can buy the ticket at SY Railway Station directly.

If you are singapore citizen with singapor passport, you can enter Haikou without visa for no more than 15 days' stay. If not, yes, visa-on-arrival in Hikou Airport is available.

I am an American living in Wuhan China. I will be coming to Sanya tomorrow. I recently realized that the weather has a potential to be raining the whole time. Is there anything to do in that place on a rainy day besides shopping?

I dont understand going to a tropical paradise for a hot spring... I can do that an hour down the road. Plus it looks like a pure tourist destination that could be found practically anywhere in the world. People have told me that its not that special...

It seems difficult to to find something interesting to do in rainy days. I know there is a singing and dance performence given indoor 20:15~21:45 every night at Beauty Crown Culture Centre. The Miss World Final Competition was held here this year. Maybe you can have a try.
Also, the hot spring spa there is famous and I think it should have some difference with the one in Wuhan.
I don't know what do you mean by special, but Sanya to China is like Hawaii to America. It will be much better when it's sunny.

I am planning to bring my son to Sanya at the end of October (he will be 11 months old by then), would the weather be too cold for him to go swimming?

The city is in tropical season all year round, so swimming is available throughout the year. Please note the sea water may be cold at late night for baby~
