Xian, as the imperial capital of 11 China's dynasties, is a heaven of archaeological wonders. It is home to the Terra Cotta Warriors; the famed life-sized tomb guards of Emperor Qin Shi Huang and the only city in China that still has its ancient city wall surrounding it. Baoji
As the second largest city in Shaanxi Province, Baoji is the hometown of Chinese ancestor Yandi, and the birthplace of Zhou and Qin dynasties. With such a glorious history, Baoji boasts a lot of historical relics, Famen Temple included. Hereunder are the related pictures.

Tongchuan
Tongchuan is located in the center of Shaanxi Province, about 70 kilometers (43 miles) from Xian City.

Mt. Yaowangshan ( 3 )
Yaowang means 'medicine king'. Shan is the meaning of 'mountain' in Chinese. Actually, the name of Mt. Yaowangshan was given to commemorate the great medical expert Sun Simiao of the Tang Dynasty (618-907). Once he led a secluded life in this mountain.

Xianyang
Xianyang has a very long history. In history, the first feudal dynasty, Qin (221BC-206BC), set up its capital here. Zhou (11th century BC-221BC), Han (206BC-220), Tang (618-907) and other ten dynasties considered it the environs of capital city. In Xianyang, there are 27 mausoleums of emperors and over 800 tombs of imperial nobles and ministers.

In Chinese, it's called Yao Dong. As an architectural style of residential houses, it's common to see in the areas of Yan'an and Yulin in the north of Shaanxi.


Yulin
Yulin lies in the north of Shaanxi Province. The ancient Great Wall crosses the city from southwest to northeast.
