- Due to the mass use of stone tools, the Prehistoric is also called the Stone Age. The Prehistoric Times consist of three phases: the Paleolithic Age, the Mesolithic Age and the Neolithic Age. According to the records, Yuanmou Man, the earliest man in China, the latter Lantian Man and Peking Man live during the Paleolithic Age.
